Phish

Happy, jamming nutbags around whom many of the deadheads have rallied around since Mr. Garcia passed on. Others have simply cried 'Heresy!' and have continued to jam out to their old Dead albums. This is OK, too.

Phish are, in fact, an awful lot of fun, and super talented musically, to boot (correct me if I'm wrong, but I think most of the members of the band have advanced degrees in music). The laundry list of their escapades just gets longer and longer - let's see...playing the *entire* Beatles's 'White Album' in concert (every Halloween, they dress up like another band - recently including the Who, the Velvet Underground, and others...), a barbershop quartet version of Lynyrd Skynyrd's Freebird, a version of Also Sprach Zarathustra for guitar, bass, drums, keyboard, and vacuum cleaner, a version of Hanson's 'mmmBop' in the style of James Brown...the list goes on and on. But what of their own songs? As I said, jamming tunes, silly lyrics, a truly jolly vibe. I promise it's impossible to listen to them and not end up in a good mood.
